The food was so so, I would have expected real salsa, it was the texture of soup, the queso was the same, soupy I needed a spoon. We paid a lot for margaritas and they were served in plastic cups. We weren't offered plates either, very strange. More

If you are looking for good authentic Mexican food look somewhere else. Feels like a mixture of American food with barely any Mexican in it. Had the Queso fundido felt like Fritos mild cheddar dip put in a plate with some chorizo. Tacos were not good either just lettuce with some meat and the little meat that it did have was not good either.

This place is doing so many things right! Good food, good art, excellent vibe, margarita Monday. And then last time I was there, had to use the bathroom after meal, and they have the option of reusable towels. I don't think I have ever … More

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Rochester was closed on Mondays so we went to La Casa. It is fairly small and somewhat noisy. The menu is more limited than some other places. There should be no problem finding a good variety though. As you can see one side of the menu is all tacos. It is a bit difficult, figuring out from the menu. What all of the options are. For instance, cheese enchiladas are not listed as a protein option.
Companion and I had the included chips and salsa. The chips were obviously homemade. We got a small order of guacamole, which was very chunky and well seasoned.
Companion had chicken fajitas and interestingly, they ask you if you want the accompaniment like the sour cream, etc. Fajitas on a sizzling plate are always more of an experience.
I got enchiladas, the plate had 3. I had vegetable and cheese. Opted for the traditional molé sauce on top. The enchiladas were ordinary. The refried beans and rice were good.
Overall fairly ordinary. Good service.

The salsa was good, but the chips were way too hard (almost chipped a tooth). The burrito was below average and overpriced. Server was good, but was too busy with other tables. Better Mexican places in the area. More

Nachos, guac and salsa were amazing. Main course - we ordered tacos, fajitas, sope - taste was average and sope was terrible, price is way too high. Drinks were also ok. More

Great ambience—the restaurant is literally a house that has been transformed. Food is a bit too salty and oily compared to other Mexican food I’ve had.

I had very high hopes for La Casa when I first entered. The atmosphere is probably the best thing about the place, and service was alright, too.
The tacos I had were quite bland, crunchy (??), and filled primarily with lettuce. The “homemade” salsa was more like homemade ketchup, and the guac was creamy but bland. Also, the soda was flat.
Lastly, and most disappointingly, was the largest art piece in the whole restaurant that features the actors from the movie the Three Amigos, which is a bastardization of Mexican culture.
I would recommend Taqueria Monterrey for tacos that are at least acceptable as authentic.
However, after living in Atlanta and being near a large Latino population, my expectations may have been too high.

I came here last night for the first time with my girl friends and it was so good! I got the taco salad with brisket and it was HUGE and probably one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Chips and salsa were delicious and our waiter Ben was a super nice, helpful guy! Definitely will be back! More

While I was on a quick work trip up to Rochester NY from NJ, I knew I wanted to eat Mexican for lunch, so I found this place, & it hit the spot! La Casa has a cozy atmosphere & it was probably an former house, which makes it perfect. The food here was really good & If I am ever back in Rochester, I will definitely try to stop here again for a meal.
